Back To UI Mods - Table of Contents

Open my computer or windows explorer, and go to your everquest directory (typically "c:\program files\everquest" or "c:\program files\sony\everquest trilogy")

Find the "uifiles" folder and double click on it.

Right click a BLANK spot in the window, and make a new folder as shown:

Re-name the new folder to something easy to remember, I'll name mine "Remelio" for example - your folder should look like this now:

Now open up the .zip file you downloaded with the mods in it, using your favorite program to work with .zip files. I'm using the built in windows XP interface for this example. Position the windows next to each other so you can clearly see the files and the directory you just made - drag and drop them into the folder as shown:

Repeat as necessary for every mod you want to apply.

Now when you enter everquest use this command:
/loadskin Remelio (or whatever you named your folder)

You can also use the following command to store your current window positions and transparency, but sometimes you need to use the above command to get the right window sizes on un-sizable windows:
/loadskin Remelio 1 (or whatever you named your folder)

You will need to issue this command per character for every character you want to use that mod for - you can make different folders for different characters and mix and match mods as you please - Everquest will remember your settings on each character.

Also if you add files to the folders later, you don't need to re-issue the command. Everquest will automatically pick up on the new files the next time you go into the game and apply them.

Enjoy!

Edit: Please note, you only need the modified files in this new folder, not every file from the default directory - any missing file will be pulled automatically from the default directory - this is handy if they patch new files - if your mods suddenly stop working, check back here for updates
